Dr. Mark Grajcar is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). DOs are fully licensed physicians specially trained to partner with patients to help them get healthy and stay well through an interrelated whole-person approach to treatment and care. Their medical training focuses on interrelated unity among all systems of the body, each working with the other to stay healthy or to heal in times of illness.
DOs are also trained in carefully listening to and communicating with patients, giving them a deeper understanding of how a patient’s lifestyle, combined with environmental factors, can influence individual health and wellbeing. Osteopathic physicians focus on prevention and strive to help you be truly healthy in mind, body and spirit — not just free of symptoms.
As part of the DO education, the physician receives special training in the musculoskeletal system, the body’s interconnected system of nerves, muscles and bones. Through Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT), DOs use their hands to diagnose illness and injury and encourage your body’s natural tendency toward self-healing. By combining the latest advances in medical technology with OMT, Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine offer the most comprehensive care available in medicine today.
OMT is often used to treat muscle pain, but it can also help provide relief for patients with asthma, sinus disorders, carpal tunnel syndrome and migraines. In many cases, OMT can be used to complement, or even replace, drugs or surgery. Using OMT, your DO can effectively treat your muscles and joints to relieve pain, promote healing and increase overall mobility. Dr. Grajcar provides OMT; please ask if you would like to receive manipulation as part of your treatment.
